A. The Organization Collecting the Personal Information
WUSA.com is owned by the Women’s United Soccer Association Players’ Association (“WUSA Players”) and operated by the WUSA Players and WUSA Festivals, LLC, which now do business as the Women’s United Soccer Association, or “WUSA.” WUSA Players and WUSA Festivals, LLC, are located c/o Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, 1735 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103, attention to John Langel, Esquire. The Site and the WUSA previously were owned and operated by Women’s Professional Soccer, L.L.C. On September 15, 2003, Women’s Professional Soccer, L.L.C. voted to dissolve and suspend further operations of the WUSA. Thereafter, Women’s Professional Soccer, L.L.C. assigned to the WUSA Players certain intellectual property and other rights associated with the WUSA, including WUSA.com, and the WUSA (and its member teams’) marks and logos. F. Special Rules for Children under 13
In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, WUSA.com has adopted special procedures applicable to personal information from users under the age of 13. It is WUSA.com's policy not to collect any personally identifiable information from these users for our own use without notice to, and consent of, a parent or guardian. Additionally, if WUSA.com determines that a user is under the age of 13, based on the information provided during the registration process, that user will not be permitted to register without notice to and consent of the child’s parent or guardian. The statements in this Policy generally about our collection and use of personal information also apply to our treatment of personal information from children under the age of 13, with the added protection of the special rules that follow, which supersede any conflicting portions of the Policy with respect to users under the age of 13.
When a user under the age of 13 attempts to register on applicable portions of WUSA.com, the user may either be prohibited from registering for the activity or will be asked to submit his or her first name, e-mail address, and parent's e-mail address. No more information than is reasonably necessary as a precondition for participation in an activity will be requested.
When a user under the age of 13 attempts to submit his or her registration information, WUSA.com's system will ask the user’s age. If the user is under the age of 13, the user will be prohibited from continuing until the parent or guardian enters his/her e-mail address and any child under the age of 13 will be prohibited from registering without the consent of a parent or guardian. By following the instructions provided in a parental notice, the parent or guardian will be given the option to continue with the registration and to supply a credit card number for verification purposes only (no charges will be made). In addition, we will send a separate e-mail notification to the user's e-mail address to inform him/her that notice of their activity was e-mailed to their parent's e-mail address. The registration will become invalid if the parent or guardian unsubscribes the user at any time. We will maintain the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the personal information collected about the child. The child’s personal information will not be disclosed to third parties unless the child’s parent or guardian affirmatively consents to such disclosure by clicking the Site’s “opt in” box authorizing us to provide the child’s personal information to such third parties. Notwithstanding the foregoing, your child’s personal information will also be in the possession of the web hosting service and operator of WUSA.com, Infinity ProSports, which will have such information solely to help operate the Site and provide requested services to your child. They can't use your child's personal information without your consent for any purpose other than the service you've requested on behalf of your child. WUSA.com will not retain any personal information from a user under the age of 13 if a parent unsubscribes their child. If unsubscribed, all information provided to the website by the child will be deleted.
WUSA.com suggests that you discuss this statement with your children.
